A Prize for MOM!

First things first, yes, you can nominate yourself. Voting is open now for our Momentous Mom contest. Listen to the calls here and help a mother out with your vote! For the rest of us, we have our Mother's Day Prayer bookmarks. Just email contest@spiritfm905.com with your name and address if you want one and we'll pop one in the mail.

And exclusive to the Mom Squad Blog is another sweet prize. I have a gift pack from iMOM.com (a t-shirt and copy of Susan Merrill's book, The Passionate Mom, Dare to Parent in Today's World) and a one hour massage from In His Hands Massage Therapy. The massage can be in-home or at the massage facility.

To enter to win the prize, just leave a comment below telling me your FAVORITE part of being a mom.

Bedtime is not an acceptable answer.

If I could win, my entry would say: The last five minutes before bed when we cuddle and hug and say our prayers. Liam is practicing making the sign of the cross which pretty much means he taps his shoulder and his chest, and then says "men" after I say "A". It's the best moment of my day!

  1. My favorite part of being a mom is getting hugs from my kids. My son will now run up and give me a hug when I ask for one. (he is 17 months old today!) And my daughter is all grown up (in her eyes) at 7 years old so when she will give me a hug it still seems like she is my baby.

    1. Happy 17 months to your son! I hope that when my daughter is 7 she still willingly gives me hugs when I ask!

  2. My favorite part of being a mom is the happiness that my children bring me. I love waking up to their precious smiles, and even waking up to my 4 year old son's messes that happen on occasion! My favorite part of the day is picking them up from daycare. I go to the infant room first and get my 2 month old. I love seeing her big smile and giving her the biggest hug after a long day! Then I go to my 4 year old's classroom and I'm always greeted by his friends letting them know that I'm there. He stops what he's doing and runs to me yelling, "MOMMY!" and gives his sister and I big hugs. It makes me forget about anything that I struggled with throughout the day and reminds me why I need to stay strong in my faith and excel in the office. My children are the greatest gift from God and my motivation! They have made me a stronger person all around :-)

  3. There are so many things that I love about being a mom, but two of my favorite are seeing my girls smile and hearing their laughter. There's something to be said about a child's laugh which is contagious. You can see the joy and love that they have for each other and those around them. They are my joy and the reason I do what I do.

  4. My favorite part about being a mom are morning cuddles with my toddler. He wakes up so happy that it is a new day and that I am coming to pick him up and take him out of his crib. He smiles big and just cuddles in so tightly. It makes my heart leap for joy! So wonderful!

  5. I have never posted on a blog before (newbie!) so hopefully this will work. I agree, there are so many things to love about being a mom. One of the things that I think about is the incredible gift and blessing it is to be chosen to be a mom. Think about it - God chose Mary to be Jesus' mother - and in just the same way, God chose me to be the mother to my 3 amazing children. How incredible is that?! But second to that and what I love SO much is the fact that no matter how old they are or what is going on in their lives - we have a bond that no one else has. As a mom, we carried them with our own bodies for 9 months. But for the rest of our lives, we have this unbreakable bond like no other. My handsome son is 19 and just finishing his freshman year of college and I have 2 beautiful daughters, 15 & 13. Whatever is going on in their lives, good or bad, they still choose to come to me first. There is nothing greater than that feeling to me - that they feel the bond and connection just as strongly as I do. That they know that no matter what, I am here and always will be, with an open heart and everlasting love. No greater joy. Thank you God, for trusting me and loving me so much that you gave these 3 precious children to me.
